Tequila gets all the love in May—but it’s time cane sugar got its flowers. Mexico is one of the most exciting, underrated producers of rum today, especially when it comes to terroir-driven, agricole-style cane spirits. So we’re kicking off Cinco de Mayo weekend by showcasing two of its finest with a guided, multi-venue tasting event.
This collaboration brings together:
Wine Country – Leading a guided tasting of two standout Mexican rums:
– Gustoso Aguardiente (Michoacán)
– Paranubes Rum (Oaxaca)
Exhibition Room – Serving your welcome cocktail in classic speakeasy style.
Marie’s Tek Tec – Continuing the celebration with:
– A chip & salsa bar provided by Marie’s
– A small tasting of tepache, Mexico’s beloved ancestral fermented drink
– Extra rum knowledge and tropical vibes from our agave-forward bartender
$20 Full Experience Ticket includes:
– Guided tasting (Wine Country)
– Welcome drink (Exhibition Room)
– Chip & salsa bar + tepache tasting + tropical education (Marie’s)
$10 Tasting-Only Ticket includes:
– Guided tasting with Wine Country
No pretension. Just a night to sip, learn, and toast to Mexico’s rich cane spirit traditions—right before Cinco de Mayo hits.
