DJ Research’s Birthday / Sagittarious Season • R+D Takeover • Long Beach, CA
Que Sera isn’t just another bar in Long Beach — it’s a landmark of underground culture. Since the 1970s, it has been a homebase for the city’s community, its misfits, its music lovers, and anyone who prefers nightlife unpolished, inclusive, and real. With its intimate room, red-lit dive-bar energy, and decades of live shows, DJ nights, punk, goth, and everything in between, Que Sera has built a reputation as the spot where Long Beach’s creative scenes collide.
It’s also where RSVP first found its footing — and where R+D was born. It’s the venue that gave DJ Research’s ideas a home before anyone else knew what they would become. Six years later, R+D has grown into one of Long Beach’s most recognizable underground parties, and RSVP has become a signature loft-party staple in the city. But the roots? They start right here.
On December 20th, we’re bringing it all back to where it began.
This night celebrates DJ Research’s birthday and every Sagittarius, the architect behind R+D and one of Long Beach’s most consistent selectors, builders, and cultural contributors. Expect the same things that define his parties: hip hop, R&B, turntablism, energy, community, and a room full of people who actually love the music and are a part of the community.
Que Sera is the perfect setting — gritty, warm, eclectic, welcoming, and tied to history. A venue built on authenticity hosting a party built on authenticity.
December 20th is a homecoming.
A celebration.
A reunion of the scenes that raised us.
