Exploring Diplomatico Rum at the Bamboo Club!

Sure, we drink a lot of whiskey, but you know what else is neat? Rum! There’s a lot to love about a barrel-aged sugar cane distillate for a whiskey drinker, so if you’ve always been rum-curious–or if you’re already full-on obsessive rum-pulsive–there’s no better time to come out and have a drink with wWw-LBC!
Come join us as we dive into one of not only Venezuela’s, but the world’s best rums: Diplomatico! Since its release in 2002, Diplomatico has been stealing hearts and snatching trophies. In fact, head blender Tito Cordero (el Maestro Ronero) has even been named World’s Best Master Blender! Nestled at the foot of the Andes mountains, their La Miel distillery turns locally sourced cane sugar into liquid gold through an eclectic and inventive set of distillation and aging procedures.
Join us as we learn more and taste through a healthy amount of rum with brand ambassador Evan Charest! We’ll be sampling:
- The balanced and bold Mantuano — perfect in a Cuba Libre, this blended rum knows how to bring the party
- The dark and distinguished Reserva Exclusiva — an eminently ponderable blend of aged rums
- The fruity and feisty Planas — this aged rum may be white, but it ain’t no basic batch
- As well as the full lineup of their Distillery Collection, a line of rums which each showcase the effects of different heritage still types used at La Miel: the Batch Kettle, the Barbet Column Still, and the Pot Still. Sip, compare, and see what a difference a few extra pipes can make.
This is happening at LB Tiki and rum haven, The Bamboo Club and includes a welcome cocktail in addition to all of the above! (You might want to bring an appetite–their kitchen game is on point and all are welcome to start a tab and grab dinner and additional drinks!) The event starts at 6 PM on Thursday, 9/22; tickets are $20 (inclusive of Eventbrite fees).
